Ray has been making images since junior high school. It started as a hobby but quickly changed to an obsession. In the early days Ray had his own darkroom and then helped pay his way through college printing others work professionally. After school Ray moved to Chicago where he worked in commercial photography for more than 15 years. As photography shifted to “digital imaging” so did Ray’s focus. Ray eventually moved from commercial photography to digital production (today’s digital darkroom) and has spent the last 25 years professionally working on the technical side of color control for commercial printing and photography all the while maintaining his own private work. In all of these moves though the desire to show the viewer the intended vision of color, light and form has never varied.
